9 – Review

“9″ is an animated film directed by Shane Acker, based on its award-winning short film made in 2005 (nominated for an Academy Award), and produced by Tim Burton (director of “Sweeney Todd”) and Timur Bekmambetov (director of “Wanted”). The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, where the whole human race has been decimated. The story begins with when “9″, one of 9 characters created by the scientist who created the dire machines that try to destroy, comes to life and encounter a world utterly destroyed. From the top of the window is facing someone and follow him, and for the first time is the “2″, a doll as he is driven by a separate machine. “9″ follows the machine but can not reach it and is back where he meets another character who takes and submits it to the others like him who take refuge in a tall tower. With the help of these dolls will find along the way, “9″ tries to save the “2″ and during the rescue are several obstacles. “9″, the brave, try to show and the attention of other dolls that despite being small or anything no one will destroy the machine.

2 – Characterization of Moppet:

The 1 is the Self-Proclaimed Leader, fearful, refuge as his bodyguard (8).
2 is the inventor, is he who teaches all that the 5th and is known for his sake that the other dolls start to your rescue.
The 3 and 4 are twins, are intelligent and it is to them that 9 you will find answers to their questions.
The 5 is the apprentice, he learned everything he knows with the 2 and 9 to meet spending their life in the tower of the sanctuary, making the lookout. It is he who will support 9 in all circumstances.
The 6 is the visionary artist who spends his life slipped into the sanctuary to draw a symbol that even the appearance of 9 no one knew what it was.
7 is a brave warrior who abandons sanctuary to be fed up of being hidden helplessly to fight evil, it is she who will join the 9 and 5 to save 2.
The 8 is the strong but mindless bodyguard 1.
The 9 is the last doll created by the scientist, is that he will challenge with 1 and 5 will face the evil and as I will venture to find new dolls (3, 4, 6, 7).

The Hero
The hero of this short film 9 is the last of 9 rag dolls created by the scientist before he died.
The Antagonist
The antagonist is composed of 4 evil beings.
The first is called the “Beast”, a kind of cat with the mechanized body and a skull that serves as the head with a red eye, the second the machine is awakened by 9 when he along with 5 going to save 2, the third is a creature created by the machine that resembles a bat that is faced in the sanctuary where the refugees 1, 8 and 6 when the 9, 5 and 7 regression, and the fourth is an insectoid creature also created by machine with jointed legs and a body like pods that using the body tries to attract 2 of the other dolls in the library, after the temple was destroyed, so they suck the soul to the machine to become stronger.

3 – First Act – Presentation

The Common World

The story is set in a world parallel to ours, where humanity was wiped out by machines which were disclosed after an army against the scientist who created them. It is a story that in some way tries to recreate the Eastern Europe. The environment where the story unfolds is a post-apocalyptic environment, where the sets are composed by the complete destruction of the city, the days are dark and there is no vegetation.
The knowledge of the outside world begins when the 9 wins consciousness and waking up in the laboratory scientist is faced with a dilapidated room by bombing. 9 The scare when a stream of air and a chat window is approaching and opening the window faces the outside world completely destroyed and to see someone try to scream but could not, rushing down the stairs and will be behind the window and saw the faces with a doll like him, the 2, who helps to talk. It is the second you know the 2 that faces the first scene of terror, fear caused by an evil being that takes 2 leaving him alone again in the middle of all those ruins. In rambling is found by another puppet like it, 5, who lives in the Tower of a shrine along with the 8, 1 and 6, and 1 is by having knowledge of what happened. You know after all that happened that shows his courage and face the 1 when he says that 2 is lost.

Call to Adventure – Refusal of the Call
The call to adventure begins when the 9 know the 2 and are attacked by the “Beast” in which the 2 asks you to hide and this fear is hidden. The 9 feels somewhat frustrated at not having been able to help and desperate and hurt wandered through the wreckage.
Meeting with the Mentor
The meeting with the Mentor, 5, happens when a 9-by wandered through the rubble after the 2 have been taken by the “Beast”. The 5 will accompany you in all his adventures until the machine to suck the soul.

Crossing the first threshold
When the 9 and 5 rise to the top of the tower 9 seen from afar the factory and tells the 5 that went to this place that was taken 2 to 5 and ask to go with him to save the 2 at the beginning but he refuses to fear and tells him that they have rules, these rules imposed by the 1 that they could not leave the sanctuary. But the 5 to see that the 9 does not give up all alone and is determined to go join him and go towards the factory without giving 1 for nothing. Along the way 9 feels some fear as you go along, but it shows always brave and face the fears.

4 -  Second Act – Conflict

Tests, Allies and Enemies
Throughout history, the 9th is finding allies and losing others, throughout history the following allies: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, the 7e 8. After they killed the Beast “, 9, 7 and 5 go to the library where they find 2 new dolls, the twins, 3 and 4, they will reveal who is awakened by machine 9 and which speak of the symbol number that gave life to the machine. The 9 and 5 at the sanctuary will get a drawing done by 6 and 8 are picked up by the leads to 1 and is the instant when the 1 and 9 discuss what is right and not right to do that comes with the 6 drawing in hand and refers to the number that gave life to the machine as “The Source”. Then after 1 and 9 continue to discuss the nine calls him a coward and it is then that a flying creature like a bat sent by the machine to destroy them. During the fight for the first time in team work and causes 1 to change your mind about to be hidden in their sanctuary and then to destroy the creature flying back to the library. In the library at night, another creature appears with jointed legs and a body like pods that using the body tries to attract 2 of the other dolls to take them to this machine for them to suck the soul. The creature gets the 7 and 8 and put them in with the machine.

Approximation of Hidden Cave and Approval
Again the 1 and 9 enter into discussion and 9 meet it by saying they have to stop hiding and they have to go after them to save them. The other dolls gather and prepare to fight with the Machine. Before entering the factory where the machine enters the 9 alone in the factory and asked the 5 to stay on the outside of the factory and destroy it. Already in the 9th when he sees a machine to suck the soul afraid of 8 but the will to save his friends is stronger and makes us not give up and arrange a plan. When it’s time for a machine to suck the soul of 7, 9 put his plan into practice what makes you earn more time and destroy the creature that captured your friends and manages to save a 7. While 9 saves the 7 other dolls are planning to destroy the factory and with it the machine. When the machine notices that you are leaving behind them along with other creatures to try to get them but when the 7 and 9 are about to leave the factory the other dolls off a barrel of oil and set fire to the factory. And they think that destroyed the machine and leave.

Reward
After the heroic revealed by 9 to save the 7 began to be more respected by all, especially the 1 that was always counter to the ideals of 9.

5 -  Third Act – Resolution

Way Back, Return
The dolls decide to burn down the factory where the machine. Shortly after the exit of 9 and 7 all go away thinking that all was over and the real evil would be destroyed and make a stop to rest near a turntable and are looking at the plant to collapse while listening to music, Over the rainbow of the Wizard of Oz.
Resurrection

When you least expect the machine comes out of the wreckage of the factory and 9 runs to warn but not enough time and the machine picks up the 5th and suck his soul, and escape to the bridge where the machine picks up the 6 and the bridge and fall but before you are sucked into the soul, 6 to 9 says to return to the house of the scientist and find out how the source really works. Then the 7 to 9 as they need to find the source and he responds that it’s all over and she did not agree saying that they are wrong and goes running to the house where the scientist is a box for him where he shows how all happened and why he created the puppets and worked as the source. Desperate for the other dolls, which in turn were fighting for the last time with the machine for the second time survived. When you arrive at the foot of the dolls shows that each of the dolls is part of the soul of the scientist and they are it. The machine comes along and destroys the cannon which bombarded the dolls and they all went running to the tunnel and when it decides to face the machine is trying to suck the soul and puts 1 to the front and it is sucked into the soul instead of the 9 and while it sucks the soul 9 remove him destroying the source machine.
Return with Elixir, the premium

After having destroyed the machine create a ritual to free the souls of the dolls that the machine had sucked the soul, and then clicking the source after correct frees the souls and ends for the first time in ages it begins to rain.
Meaning of rain – the return of life to the world.

6 – Archetypes

Hero - is the 9th, first character in the movie which comes at a post-apocalyptic which as you know the world and its dangers is becoming bolder and with the friends you are doing over time is the winning ills.
Mentor - The Mentor is the main 5 that after having seen the 9 hurt was always with him and always supported him in everything. But it is not the only, 1 gave him to know all that happened until now, the 2 gave him the voice and 7 saved him when he struggled with the “Beast” and has always been next to 9 in all fighting.
Guardian of the Threshold - The threshold guardian in this movie is the “Beast” that machine to be awakened to watch the entire area around the factory.
Herald - The Herald in this movie are the same individuals who serve as Mentor, despite always being there and supporting the 9 question and also try to make it reflect what they want to do is right or wrong.

Chameleon - In this film the chameleon is not restricted to one character but an element of the film that is almost always present in every scene. This element is the Source, that evil seeks to keep you and the dolls look try to get it. At first the dolls think the source is just an object that serves to give life to evil and steal the souls of the weak, but in the end with the departure of 9th scientist’s house and discovers that the source not only serves to give life and take it to the more open but also to destroy evil and liberate the souls of the dead dolls and with it back to life to the world.
Pícaro - The only character to whom this archetype can be attributed to the 8, because although it is not comic or cause rised conveys a certain comic environment due to little smarter and think more with the muscles that the brain itself.
Shadow - Shadow is the Machine, because it is the true evil of historiography and the house was a machine that humanity has been decimated and it is against the 9 fight to stop evil in the world.

Multimedia is the utilization of mulples medias like a  sound, voice and touch to create interactivity. Multimedia is used in everything, if i read a newspaper, if i see tv, if i search on the internet, if i talk with my mother i use multimedia.Multimedia is comunication and, if multimedia didn’t exist, comunication with people would be more limited. Multimedia is the future, it’s evolution is unlimited an it opens more comunication forms.
